Wine Making
Wine makers Barry and son Jerram Wurlod started commercial wine production on site at Dixie in 2020. Our wine is made from fruit picked on-site and at other vineyards in the Geelong and Grampians wine regions.
Each wine tells a story that is unique to the vineyard - the soil profile, the climate and the growing conditions.
As winemakers our goal is to allow the wine to do its thing with minimal intervention, to express its own story in a way that we enjoy and hope you do too!
Our wines made on site are bottled in reused bottles that we collect, recycle and reuse through our cellar door and wine club.
Vineyard
Dixie, South West Victoria
Located on the side of a Volcanic crater, the grapevines at Keayang Maar Vineyard benefit from the region's cool climate, and unique volcanic soil profile and enjoy stunning views year-round.
We grow a variety of grapes on site with a focus on reds, Pinot Noir & Shiraz. There are also three white varieties Chardonnay, Riesling and Pinot Gris. The oldest vines have been in for 15 years. There are approximately 3 acres under productive vines currently and the vineyard is still expanding.
